Tommy Merry is a guitarist, musician and producer with a rich history in the instrumental guitar rock genre. Up until the end of 2007, he dedicated his talents to this genre. However, in recent years, Tommy has diversified his musical portfolio by venturing into producing other artists and exploring various music styles.

His musical journey has been marked by notable achievements, with his music featured in a range of media platforms.

Tommy’s work has danced across the airrwaves in radio commercials on KOME and KSJO, and has been featured on national TV shows such as FOX CH2, “The Crow: Stairway to Heaven,” “Best Damn Sports Show,” “Nash Bridges,” “Powder Park,” and even the U.S.A. Olympics. Additionally, his music has made its mark on the silver screen, appearing on movie soundtracks like “The Last Innocent Summer,” as well as in the films he has directed himself.

Tommy’s career took an exciting turn when he was invited to join GAMMA, featuring Davey Pattison, as the main guitarist after the passing of the legendary Ronnie Montrose. During his six-year tenure with GAMMA, the band shared the stage with iconic acts like Deep Purple, Boston, Tommy Tutone, Kiefer Sutherland, Quiet Riot, and Edgar Winter. This period came to a close when singer Davey Pattison retired to Scotland.

Tommy’s earlier instrumental bands also made significant strides in the music scene. They earned coveted opening spots for renowned artists and bands such as Metallica, Joe Satriani, Tony MacAlpine, Michael Schenker, Tesla, Trapt, Journey, Montrose, Y&T, Testament, Faith No More, as well as classic acts like Iron Butterfly, Lita Ford, and Armored Saint.

Currently residing in Costa Rica, Tommy continues to pursue his passion for music. He’s actively involved in gigging and producing music for local artists until the end of 2023. Beyond that, his plans include a return to the United States, with a focus on music and film projects in Oregon starting in 2024.
